Our deputies have been busy the past couple of weeks. Along with regular day to day calls for service they have recently arrested two felons with lengthy criminal histories.
On June 21 deputies received word that a warrant had been issued from Valley County Court for a felon who was facing several theft and burglary charges. Deputies located the suspect in a residence in Fullerton. After several attempts to allow the suspect to surrender, deputies searched the house and found the suspect hiding under a pile of boxes in the basement. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident and transferred to the Valley County Sheriff’s Office.
On June 30 deputies were called to a reported trespassing on private property along the Loup River just south of Fullerton. Deputies located the suspect who stated he had been living along the river the past five days. The suspect’s name was run and he was found to be a convicted felon with an active warrant from Platte County. During the contact deputies discovered the suspect was in possession of multiple edged weapons concealed on his person. He was arrested on the Platte County warrant and was also charged with trespassing and felon in possession of a deadly weapon.
Both of these incidents ended peacefully thanks to the professional response by our deputies.
