The City of Columbus has received reports of citizens being contacted by a party claiming to be the Water Billing Department, saying that the citizen has a refund coming back to them.
The caller is requesting banking information or other personal information in order for the citizen to receive their refund. This is a scam. Please be advised that the Columbus Water Billing Department will never initiate calls to citizens to request their banking information. If you receive a call similar to this, do not give out any information.
