Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska's 2nd district since 2017, recently shared updates on various issues through his social media platform. Born in Momence, Illinois, and currently residing in Papillion, Bacon has been active in Congress following his replacement of Brad Ashford.

On June 9, 2025, Rep. Bacon tweeted about modifications to Russian TU-95 Bear Bombers: "Recently modified TU-95 Bear Bombers. They’ll no longer carry cruise missiles to hit cities and innocent civilians." This statement reflects changes that potentially reduce the bombers' threat level.

Later that day, he addressed legislative matters concerning tax proposals and Medicaid: "If we opposed this bill we’d have 5X larger protests. These folks want to raise taxes on NE middle class families by $1,700 a year & 20% increase on small businesses. We protected those who need Medicaid & SNAP, but will remove illegal & ineligible people and insist healthy". His comments suggest efforts to balance fiscal policy with social welfare needs while addressing eligibility concerns.

Additionally, Rep. Bacon invited followers to join him live on a radio show: "Live now on the @JulieMasonShow1! Tune in!" This invitation indicates his engagement with media platforms to discuss pertinent issues.

Don Bacon holds a BA from Northern Illinois University and another degree from the University of Phoenix.
