The voter-approved Columbus Community Building public open house has been officially set.

The City of Columbus will host the open house from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, July 8th at the facility, 2500 14th St.

All said and done, the three-level facility will house new City Hall offices, the Columbus Public Library, the Columbus Arts Council, the new City Council Chambers, community spaces, the Columbus Area Children's Museum, a location for The Broken Mug and more. The Children's Museum and Broken Mug won't be open on July 8th, but there will still be plenty to see that day.

The event will commence with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. and then the building will open for people to tour and enjoy several activities.

People of all ages are encouraged to come out and participate in the celebration.

The current plan is for City officials to begin working in the building on July 5th. As previously announced, The Columbus City Council will hold its first meeting in the new Chambers that same evening.

More details about the open house will be announced in the coming weeks.
