Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, recently shared a series of tweets on various topics including military service, international affairs, and trade policies. Bacon has been vocal about his views and experiences, often reflecting on his past service and current political landscape.

On November 29, 2024, Rep. Bacon reminisced about serving Thanksgiving dinner at Ramstein Air Base in Germany in 2008. He emphasized the unity and mission of those serving abroad by stating: "Serving Thanksgiving dinner at Ramstein Air Base, Germany in 2008. We were and are one team, serving a great mission for our great country."

Later that day, he commented on the geopolitical situation involving Russia, highlighting significant casualties and economic difficulties faced by the country. Bacon remarked: "Russia has lost 700,000 casualties and its economy is in shambles. Putin’s threats and nuclear saber rattling shows he’s a cornered rat. He’s finding out that he’s not entitled to control his neighbors who want democracy, free markets and the rule of law."

In another tweet posted on the same day, Rep. Bacon criticized President Biden's handling of agricultural trade surplus issues. He expressed concern over the historical deficit stating: "Biden inherited an AG trade surplus & we now have the worst deficit in history. This is first time since Carter that a President has not made a trade deal. We are the breadbasket of the world & should not be a net AG importer. We need trade doors opened."
