Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, recently took to Twitter to express his views on tax policy and military support. Bacon, a graduate of Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix, highlights issues concerning Nebraska families and servicemembers. Born in Momence, Illinois, in 1963, Bacon has been a resident of Papillion.

On April 15, 2025, Bacon addressed the expiration of tax cuts, stating, "Today is Tax Day. In 2017, @POTUS delivered his promise to cut taxes & build a strong economy. But these vital tax cuts are set to expire. Without action, a Nebraska family of four will face a $1,514 tax increase. We must extend these cuts to our hardworking families."

Later that day, Bacon expressed gratitude towards a military organization, posting, "Thank you @MilitaryOfficer for recognizing our vital work to improve the quality of life of our servicemembers and their families! No servicemember should ever need SNAP or food banks to feed their families."

The following day, April 16, 2025, Bacon tweeted a cryptic message with geographic overtones, saying, "NE Nice and Serious this time."
