Rep. Don Bacon, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd District since 2017, recently shared his views on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Bacon, a seasoned politician with a background in military service and education from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix, expressed his stance on matters ranging from national security to prison reform.

On February 11, 2025, Rep. Don Bacon voiced his opinion regarding the United States' Strategic Petroleum Reserve policy. He stated, "It's this simple: We should never sell oil from our Strategic Petroleum Reserve to our adversaries."

In another tweet dated February 12, 2025, Bacon addressed the issue of drug-related fatalities in federal prisons. He advocated for digitalizing incoming mail as a measure to curb Fentanyl-related deaths among guards and inmates while ensuring prisoners' rights are upheld. He tweeted: "We should digitize the mail coming into our Federal prisons. Too many guards and inmates are dying from Fentanyl. We can fix this and still protect prisoners' rights to get mail."

On the same day, Rep. Bacon commented on an ongoing international conflict without naming specific countries or parties involved but emphasized moral clarity regarding responsibility for the war and its humanitarian consequences. He wrote: "We should have moral clarity who started this war, who is bombing cities indiscriminately and who our real friend here is. There are consequences of rewarding the invader even if its leader foolishly led over 700,000 of its citizens to slaughter."
