He stated: "Grateful for the invitation to speak on tech innovation at the Honolulu Defense Forum! As Chairman of the HASC Cyber and Innovation Subcommittee, I am working to speed delivery of new technologies to our warfighters in the Indo-Pacific region #USINDOPACOM #HonoluluDefenseForum".

Later that day, he highlighted a meeting with Doug Beck and his team from the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU). Bacon noted: "The Defense Innovation Unit is breaking barriers to speed cutting edge commercial technology to warfighters around the world. I caught up with @DIU_x Director Doug Beck and his team at the #HonoluluDefenseForum to discuss ways to remove obstacles to defense innovation."

In another post dated February 15, 2025, Bacon reflected on a visit to Pearl Harbor alongside other HASC Subcommittee Chairmen. He remarked: "Hawaii is home to the U.S. Pacific Fleet. Yesterday I joined my fellow HASC Subcommittee Chairmen on a tour of Pearl Harbor. Here USINDOPACOM Commander Admiral Samuel Paparo describes the attack on the U.S.S. Arizona on December 7, 1941."
