Rep. Don Bacon honors local leader and engages with community

Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska's 2nd district since 2017, recently shared several updates on social media regarding his activities and engagements. Born in Momence, Illinois, Bacon has been active in politics and community service.

On February 21, 2025, Rep. Don Bacon highlighted the recognition of Omaha's Kenny McMorris in the Congressional record. McMorris, CEO of Charles Drew Health Center, was honored by Bacon during Black History Month. "ICYMI: Omaha's Kenny McMorris has been recognized in the Congressional record. The CEO of Charles Drew Health Center was honored by Rep. Don Bacon during Black History Month."

Later that day, Bacon welcomed religious leaders to his office in Omaha. He expressed appreciation for Archbishop George Lucas and Bishop James Conley for their leadership and representation of many constituents' views within the state. "I welcomed Archbishop George Lucas (Archbishop of Omaha) and Bishop James Conley (Diocese of Lincoln) to our Omaha office. I appreciate their leadership and voice, representing the views of many in our state."

In another post on February 21, 2025, Rep. Don Bacon thanked constituents who visited his office to discuss various issues including DOGE cryptocurrency, the SAVE Act, Ukraine, democracy, and international relations with Europe. He emphasized the importance of constituent engagement."Thanks to these constituents for stopping by to share their concerns about DOGE, SAVE Act, Ukraine, democracy, our standing in Europe and many other things. We always appreciate constituents stopping by!"
