Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska's 2nd district since 2017, recently shared his insights on cybersecurity and international relations through a series of tweets. Known for his strong stance on national security and support for Ukraine, Bacon continues to engage in discussions relevant to America's strategic interests.
On March 5, 2025, Rep. Don Bacon expressed his views on cybersecurity during the National Security Innovation Base Summit hosted by the Reagan Institute. He stated, "I enjoyed participating in @ReaganInstitute’s panel to discuss cybersecurity and America’s innovation ecosystem at the 2025 National Security Innovation Base Summit. We cannot afford to hold back on cyber development or our military capabilities."
The following day, March 6, 2025, he addressed Eastern European nations' interest in NATO membership due to historical experiences with Russian dominance. He remarked that "One of a thousand reasons why Eastern European nations want to be in NATO. Eastern Europeans know first hand of the murder that comes with Russian domination. Ukraine lived under the Russian boot and wants its independence. I stand with Ukraine and freedom."
Later that same day, Bacon reaffirmed his position regarding Russia's stance against Western values and Ukraine's aspirations for democracy. He emphasized historical figures as part of this legacy by stating "Real Republicans know that Putin’s Russia hates the West and freedom. We also know that Ukraine wants democracy, free markets and rule of law. We stand with right vs evil. Reagan, Churchill, Eisenhower… that is our legacy. I won’t walk away from it."
