Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, recently shared his views on energy policy, international leadership, and support for local firefighters through a series of tweets.
On March 10, 2025, Rep. Bacon expressed his belief in an inclusive energy strategy that emphasizes national security. He stated, "I believe in 'all of the above' energy approach. We don’t want imported energy from Venezuela & OPEC, and we can cut oil revenues received by Russia & Iran. Natural gas, renewables & nuclear make a great portfolio. Energy independence is national security."
Later that day, Rep. Bacon commented on America's global leadership role. In his tweet posted at 18:42 UTC, he wrote about the importance of maintaining this position: "We are the leader of the free world and we’ve spent nearly 80 years in that role. I think it would be a grave error to walk away from this leadership role. As it is often said, America is great because we are good. If we ever cease to be good, we’ll also cease to be great."
In another tweet posted at 19:17 UTC on the same day, Rep. Bacon welcomed local firefighters to Washington and reiterated his commitment to supporting them: "Happy to welcome our local firefighters to Washington. I fully support our heroes who protect us around the clock and am committed to advocating for their issues."
