Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, has shared his views on various issues through a series of tweets. These statements reflect his positions on military allowances, cybersecurity threats, and international relations involving Russia and Ukraine.

On March 13, 2025, Rep. Bacon expressed concern about the current policy affecting military service members' housing allowances. "I’m Republican lead for restoring 100% of the housing allowance that our military service members receive when they live off base," he stated. He criticized the Department of Defense's decision to subtract 5% from these allowances to cover other expenses, highlighting how this deduction exacerbates poverty among service members.

In another tweet posted on the same day, Rep. Bacon emphasized his role as Chairman of the Cyber Subcommittee amidst rising cyber threats from foreign adversaries. "I’m grateful to serve as Chairman of the Cyber Subcommittee," he wrote, acknowledging aggressive cyber activities by China and Russia against the United States and underscoring the need for improved defensive measures.

Later that day, Rep. Bacon addressed international tensions following Russia's rejection of a truce with Ukraine. He noted that this development was unsurprising given Russia's actions in Ukraine under President Putin's leadership. "Russia slams door on truce with Ukraine," he commented, supporting former President Trump's stance on providing military aid and intelligence to Ukraine while advocating for confiscating Russian assets and implementing stringent sanctions.
