Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, recently shared his views on several important issues through social media posts. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, Bacon has been active in addressing both national and military concerns.

On March 20, 2025, Rep. Bacon emphasized the importance of respecting judicial opinions and the established legal processes within the United States. He stated that "We have a 236-year tradition of respecting a judge's opinion or using the appeals process to overturn the decision." He further highlighted the significance of checks and balances enshrined in the Constitution as essential for maintaining rule of law.

Later that day, he addressed an issue concerning sexual assault within military ranks. In his post, he acknowledged that "One sexual assault in the military is one too many and can leave behind a wake of trauma, anxiety, and depression." Rep. Bacon mentioned legislative efforts such as the Improving VA Training for Military Sexual Trauma (MST) Claims Act aimed at simplifying processes to aid service members seeking care.

In another statement made on March 20th, Rep. Bacon expressed gratitude towards certain congressional leaders for their stance on defense matters. He thanked @HASCRepublicans Chairman @RepMikeRogersAL & @SASCGOP Chairman @SenatorWicker for opposing any dilution of deterrence strategies abroad and noted that they share his perspective along with many others within his party.
