Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska's 2nd district, has shared his views on several pressing issues through recent tweets. The congressman, who succeeded Brad Ashford in 2017 and holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix, expressed opinions on the Postal Service, special education funding, and harassment against Jewish American students.
On March 25, Rep. Bacon stated his position regarding the United States Postal Service: "The Postal Service is one of the primary obligations of the federal government. Privatizing the Postal Service would not be the right decision."
Following this statement, on March 26, he addressed special education funding: "I am going to continue to support strongly funding special education. The federal government has a legal obligation to continue funding many education responsibilities whether there is a Department of Education or not."
Later that day, Rep. Bacon commented on incidents involving Jewish American students: "We cross a line when Jewish American students are being physically and emotionally harassed."
