Rep. Don Bacon, representing Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, shared his views through a series of tweets on April 10, 2025. Known for his engagement with constituents and interest in both state and national issues, Bacon shared thoughts on international governance, domestic economic policy, and community events in Washington, D.C.

In his first tweet of the day, Bacon criticized the leadership in Russia, remarking on April 10, 2025, that "This tells you more about how bad is the Putin regime. It is a dictatorship, and individual rights are not respected." This comment aligns with his stance on advocating for democratic values and human rights.

Later the same day, Bacon addressed the subject of tariffs and constitutional powers, expressing his opinion that "This is less about the actual tariffs laid by the Trump admin, some of which I support because they are reciprocal, but more a commitment to uphold the Constitution." He emphasized the importance of Congress holding the power of the purse, noting that "Our Founders created checks & balances for a reason." This reflects his commitment to uphold traditional checks and balances within the U.S. government.

In a lighter note shared on the afternoon of April 10, Bacon highlighted his engagement with constituents through a traditional event, stating that there was "Another great turnout at yesterday's Nebraska Breakfast!" He encouraged Nebraskans planning trips to Washington, D.C., to "Join your fellow Nebraskans for this time-honored tradition every Wednesday when Congress is in session." This invitation extends his efforts toward community engagement and civic involvement.

Don Bacon, a former member of the U.S. military and a graduate of Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix, continues to live in Papillion, Nebraska. He replaced former Congressman Brad Ashford to represent Nebraska’s 2nd district and remains active in political and community spheres.
