Representative Don Bacon, currently serving Nebraska's 2nd District in the U.S. Congress since 2017, has been vocal on various issues through his Twitter profile. Bacon, who resides in Papillion and was born in Momence, Illinois, has shared his perspective on topics ranging from U.S. tariffs to international conflicts.

On April 13, 2025, Don Bacon referenced a Wall Street Journal (WSJ) article that explores the history of U.S. tariffs and protectionism, highlighting the constitutional authority of Congress over tariffs as spelled out in Article One. Bacon, an alum of Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix, emphasizes that this historical authority was a reason for allocating Congress these powers.

In another tweet from April 13, 2025, Bacon quoted Peggy Noonan from the WSJ, who criticized GOP majorities in Congress for yielding tariff authority to the executive branch. Noonan's statement that this relinquishment is an "insult to history" and undermines the coequal status of government branches aligned with Bacon's views on legislative powers.

Bacon's concerns extend beyond domestic affairs. On the same day, he tweeted about international matters, particularly highlighting Russia's military actions in Ukraine. He condemned the bombings of cities and the resultant civilian casualties, advocating against rewarding alleged war crimes with territorial concessions to Russia.

Don Bacon, who succeeded Brad Ashford in the U.S. Congress, represents Nebraska’s 2nd district, advocating for constitutional adherence and criticizing both domestic policy shifts and foreign aggression.
