Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving in the U.S. Congress, representing Nebraska’s 2nd district, conveyed a series of messages through his social media platform regarding recent political events and opportunities for high school students. Across three separate posts, Bacon discussed legislative actions, educational opportunities, and characterized his political ideology. Bacon, who replaced Brad Ashford in 2017, remains an active voice in Congress.

On April 14, 2025, Rep. Bacon addressed a legislative measure taken by his party. He stated, "Last week @HouseGOP voted to put in place simple safeguards to prevent abuse in our democratic process. The removal of 50k non-citizens from Arizona's voter rolls demonstrates exactly why the SAVE Act is needed to protect election integrity."

On the same day, at a later time, Rep. Bacon highlighted an upcoming event for students aspiring to join military service academies. He mentioned, "Join my office and the Nebraska delegation for Service Academy Days virtually & in Omaha! These events offer HS students info on applying for congressional nominations to military service academies. As a 30-year AF veteran, I encourage all students to explore these opportunities."

The following day, April 15, 2025, Bacon shared an article that discusses his standing within the Republican Party. He quoted from Dispatch, “Don Bacon is not a moderate, but he is Reagan Republican.”

Bacon, born in Momence, Illinois, in 1963, and now 59, resides in Papillion. His educational journey includes graduating from Northern Illinois University in 1984 with a BA and later from the University of Phoenix.
