Representative Don Bacon, currently serving Nebraska's 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, utilized social media to share support and gratitude through a series of tweets. His Twitter activity on April 18, 2025, touched on significant diplomatic and military themes, underscoring his commitment to international relations and defense.

On April 18, 2025, Bacon expressed support for Ambassador Mike Huckabee in a new endeavor. Bacon extended his well wishes for Huckabee's mission to work with a close ally to free 59 hostages held by Hamas. The Representative affirmed, "We wish Ambassador Mike Huckabee the very best as he takes on this very important new role. He has my support as he works with our very close ally to liberate the 59 hostages still being brutalized by Hamas."

In another tweet dated April 18, 2025, Bacon conveyed appreciation towards Greece's military forces. He expressed thanks to the Hellenic Air Force and Navy for their hospitality and briefings at significant military establishments in Greece, including the Greek Pentagon in Athens and Navy Base Souda Bay. Bacon acknowledged Greece's vital strategic contribution to NATO, writing, "I thank the Hellenic AF and Navy for their welcome and briefings at the Greek 'Pentagon' in Athens and at Navy Base Souda Bay. Greece has given America tremendous access to the Mediterranean and brings great capabilities of its own as part of NATO."

Further emphasizing the importance of Greece as an ally, Bacon, alongside Representative Mike Flood, celebrated meeting Navy Lt Copeman from Papillion, Nebraska, at the Navy Base Souda Bay. Expressing good wishes for military personnel, Bacon noted Souda Bay's strategic advantages, posting on April 18, 2025, "@USRepMikeFlood & I got to see Navy Lt Copeman, a Papillion NE native, at Navy Base Souda Bay, Greece. Souda Bay has the best deep sea port in the Mediterranean & also has a great military airfield we use. Greece is a great ally. We wish all our deployed military a Happy Easter."

Don Bacon, born in Momence, Illinois, in 1963, has served in Congress since 2017, after replacing Brad Ashford. He currently resides in Papillion, Nebraska, and is an alumnus of Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
