Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing Nebraska's 2nd district, recently took to social media to express his gratitude towards various sectors and discuss relevant issues. Rep. Bacon, who has served in Congress since 2017, shared his views through a series of posts, ranging from praise for law enforcement to the decline in illegal border crossings and concerns regarding firefighters' health risks.

On April 20, 2025, Rep. Don Bacon expressed his appreciation for local law enforcement's efforts in community protection. In his post, he mentioned a light-hearted interaction, stating, "I thank our law enforcement for protecting our community everyday! I asked two here 'why such the long face?'".

Later that day, Bacon addressed a notable achievement under the current administration, saying, “Illegal border crossings are at the lowest in decades.” He highlighted this as one of the significant issues from the previous election, noting that the President is delivering on this front.

On April 21, 2025, Bacon turned his attention to the challenges faced by firefighters. He stated, "We must realize firefighters face a significantly higher risk of cancer due to the toxins present in fires. Our policies must reflect that. We need to have the backs of the firefighters who protect us." This call for policy support underscores the health risks faced by those combating fires.

Don Bacon, born in 1963 in Momence, Illinois, and currently residing in Papillion, Nebraska, has a background that includes a BA from Northern Illinois University and further education at the University of Phoenix. His career in Congress followed his predecessor, Brad Ashford.
