Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district, utilized his social media account to communicate on various issues, including weather forecasting services, local community engagements, and social security benefits.

On April 26, 2025, Bacon addressed the reinstatement of a weather service, which he, alongside Mike Flood, successfully lobbied for. Bacon stated, "Both Mike Flood and I asked the White House to reinstate this weather service, and the White House agreed. This is important for having high fidelity in forecasting the weather, especially in tornado conditions."
