Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving Nebraska's 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on recent activities through a series of tweets. Bacon, who took office in 2017, has been active in legislative and national matters. Born in 1963 in Momence, Illinois, Bacon now resides in Papillion and has academic credentials from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.

On April 29, 2025, Bacon announced that "@HASCRepublicans just approved significant defense funding to strengthen American military power". He detailed allocations: "$11B For Pacific deterrence," "$13B To modernize nuclear capabilities," "$9B For service member quality of life," "$4.5B New fighter procurement," and "$4.5B B-21 acceleration."

An apparent curiosity followed Bacon's earlier tweet on April 29 capturing attention without additional context: "https://t.co/ACIIoRbPH7".

Later that day, Bacon tweeted about his interaction with Assaf Lowengart: "Great meeting with Assaf Lowengart, a proud member of Team Israel's 2020 Olympics and 2023 World Baseball Classic teams". Bacon described the meeting as inspiring and highlighted Lowengart's accomplishments in representing Israel on the global stage.

The political and diplomatic activities reflect Bacon's involvement in enhancing U.S. defense capabilities while engaging with international sports figures.
