Rep. Don Bacon shares views on Nebraska, Wikipedia, and defense priorities

Don Bacon, a current U.S. Congress member representing Nebraska's 2nd district, has been active on social media sharing insights and opinions with his followers. Bacon, who began his congressional service in 2017 after defeating Brad Ashford, has a history of public service and engagement with local and national issues.

On May 1, 2025, Bacon shared a brief message appreciating the positive aspects of Nebraska, stating simply "NE Nice."

Later that day, Bacon addressed issues concerning Wikipedia's content management. On the same day, he criticized the online encyclopedia by emphasizing the need for Wikipedia to improve its management of biased content, stating, ".@Wikipedia must do a better job of screening out racist antisemitic material and remaining free of bias. Many assume Wikipedia has factual data, which puts the onus on its editors to screen out the antisemitism."

In another message on May 1, 2025, Bacon focused on national defense, advocating for advancements in missile defense to combat developing threats. He expressed that "Strengthening America's missile defense requires immediate improvements to existing systems & investment in next-generation technologies. We need strong command & control networks and ground based, space based, & airborne intercept capabilities to stay ahead of emerging threats."

Don Bacon, originally from Momence, Illinois, now resides in Papillion and holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
