Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving Nebraska's 2nd District in the U.S. Congress, has shared several updates through a series of tweets. He replaced former U.S. Congress member Brad Ashford in 2017. In another tweet on the same day, Bacon expressed gratitude for participating in a graduation parade for new 2nd Lieutenants. "Grateful to officiate the graduation parade for class 2025-11. These new 2nd Lts represent the 1% of the nation who wear the uniform defending the greatest country in the world. As I said 'Officers Dismissed' a B-1 & 2 F-35s gave a great fly-by. Afterburners On! Aim High!"
On May 3, 2025, Bacon commended the Ukrainians for their ingenuity and resilience in defending their independence and cultural integrity. "The Ukrainians are exceptionally innovative, and fighting hard to defend their independence, culture and desire to be aligned with the West."
