On May 6, 2025, Rep. Bacon announced that "Our NE02 office helped secure one-fifth of the funding to provide more affordable housing in North Omaha." This initiative aims to address housing affordability issues within the community.
In another tweet from the same day, he expressed gratitude towards a constituent from Omaha for their input on energy solutions. He stated that "The all of the above solution is the right approach to providing a balanced mix of clean & reliable energy." He emphasized reducing reliance on foreign energy imports and noted that "Omaha gets 40% of its energy from wind."
Later that day, Bacon highlighted economic concerns on NewsNation by discussing potential tax increases and healthcare reforms. He warned that Nebraskans could face significant financial burdens if current tax cuts are not extended. Don Bacon was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and now resides in Papillion. A graduate of Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix, he has served Nebraska's 2nd District since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017.
