Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, recently shared his views on various topics through a series of tweets on May 5, 2025.

In one tweet, Rep. Bacon expressed pride in his state with a brief message: "NE Nice!" (May 5, 2025).

He also addressed Medicaid reforms by stating that requiring able-bodied adults without children to work or seek employment skills does not constitute a cut to Medicaid. He emphasized that ensuring only eligible individuals are on Medicaid is beneficial for taxpayers and strengthens the program. According to him, these measures are "smart reforms that save the taxpayers and strengthens Medicaid." (May 5, 2025).

Further discussing tax policies, Rep. Bacon warned about potential tax increases if the 2017 tax law expires. He highlighted the impact on Nebraskans and small businesses who could face a significant tax hike. Bacon stressed that "the average Nebraskan cannot afford a $1,600 tax increase" and asserted that extending the tax cuts is essential (May 5, 2025).

Don Bacon was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. He graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1984 with a BA and later from the University of Phoenix.
