Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska's 2nd district since 2017, recently shared his views on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Bacon, who succeeded Brad Ashford in Congress and has roots in Momence, Illinois, discussed matters ranging from international security to domestic policy.

On May 7, 2025, Rep. Bacon expressed support for President Biden's decisive actions against the Houthis, stating "I applaud @POTUS's decisive action against the Houthis. They shut down shipping through the Suez Canal for months and that should never have been tolerated." He emphasized the need for further military action if the Houthis resume their attacks on shipping routes.

Later that day, he highlighted his role in a cyber subcommittee hearing as part of the House Armed Services Committee. He tweeted about addressing technological threats faced by U.S. allies: "Our allies face unprecedented threats from adversaries targeting America's technological edge." Bacon noted the importance of innovation in quantum computing, AI, and cybersecurity to enhance capabilities for American warfighters.

In another tweet on May 7th, Rep. Bacon addressed issues with Social Security Administration customer service. He stated "I know first-hand the challenges with Social Security Administration customer service." emphasizing the need to improve rather than weaken these services.

Rep. Don Bacon has been active in U.S. Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and resides in Papillion after being born in Momence, Illinois.
