Don Bacon discusses national security, honors veteran entrepreneur

Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, has been active on social media discussing various topics ranging from national security to business accolades and international affairs.

On May 9, 2025, Rep. Bacon shared insights from a hearing with the House Armed Services Committee's Cyber Subcommittee. He mentioned discussions with Department of Defense officials about "current tech matters & enterprise-wide modernization," focusing on the "access to critical parts of the electromagnetic spectrum supporting thousands of military platforms & weapons systems vital to national security." Later that day, Rep. Bacon extended his congratulations to Joseph Hodges, a USAF veteran and head of Lion's Gate Security Solutions, who was named Nebraska's Small Business Person of the Year. He stated that "Russia has changed its borders by force of arms nine times since the fall of the Soviet Union," warning that this pattern would continue unless actively countered at present. Don Bacon was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. He graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1984 and furthered his education at the University of Phoenix.
