On May 12, 2025, Rep. Don Bacon addressed the ongoing mental health crisis in the United States. He stated that "we have a mental health crisis in our country & it’s clear to all of us we have underfunded mental health care." He emphasized his commitment to working with co-chairs of the Mental Health Caucus to enhance the nation's mental health capabilities. In another post on the same day, Bacon highlighted the importance of maintaining U.S. support for advanced hydrogen technology as crucial for retaining a competitive edge in this emerging sector. Later that day, Rep. Bacon shared his collaboration with Mayor Jean Stothert concerning housing needs and economic development in Omaha. The city is set to receive over $4 million in Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), more than $2 million from HOME funds, and $371K from Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) to support these initiatives."Great working with Mayor Jean Stothert to address housing needs and strengthen economic development."
Don Bacon was born in Momence, Illinois, in 1963 and resides in Papillion. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA degree before furthering his education at the University of Phoenix.
