Rep. Don Bacon, representing Nebraska's 2nd District since 2017, recently shared insights on various topics through a series of tweets. Bacon, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress after replacing Brad Ashford, emphasized bipartisan efforts and his personal values.

On May 16, 2025, Bacon highlighted his collaborative work with Rep. Chrissy Houlahan to enhance military quality of life. "@RepHoulahan & I built a strong bipartisan team to improve military quality of life. We passed 29 proposals that became law." He described this as one of the most rewarding accomplishments for both representatives, attributing their success to their shared experiences as veterans.

In another tweet on the same day, Bacon addressed the geopolitical tensions arising from Russia's actions in Ukraine. He stated that "The Russian invasion of Ukraine forces all its neighbors to aggressively strengthen their defenses." He condemned war crimes and highlighted the lack of trust among Russia's neighboring countries towards President Putin.

Further expressing his political philosophy, Bacon tweeted: "I’m a Reagan guy. I’m a Christian first, an American second & then a Republican somewhere farther down.” He advocated for prioritizing what is right for America over partisan politics.

Don Bacon was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA and furthered his education at the University of Phoenix.
