Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, has shared several updates on social media. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, Bacon has a background that includes graduating from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.

On May 15, 2025, Rep. Bacon commented on an individual’s employment status by stating "Poor guy needs a job I think."

The following day, May 16, 2025, he expressed his opposition to the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) due to its impact on the IRS size. He emphasized the importance of biofuels and wind energy for the Midwest's agricultural economy: "Again, we opposed the IRA because it doubled the size of the IRS. Biofuels are critically important to the Midwest AG economy & 40% of our energy comes from wind. Hundred of millions of $$ have been invested leveraging the tax incentives. Energy dominance involves all energy."

Later that same day, Rep. Bacon invited students to participate in Service Academy Days organized by his office and the Nebraska delegation. He highlighted these events as opportunities for high school students interested in applying for congressional nominations to military service academies: "Join my office and the Nebraska delegation for Service Academy Days virtually & in Omaha! These events offer HS students info on applying for congressional nominations to military service academies. As a 30-year AF veteran, I encourage all students to explore these opportunities."
