In a post from that day, Rep. Bacon announced that he supported a "$1.1M federal grant & partnered with @Habitat_org to revitalize & reopen Myott Park in North Omaha." He noted that recent years have seen approximately $40 million brought into North Omaha to aid affordable housing and improvements on 24th Street to bolster small businesses. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, Don Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since succeeding Brad Ashford in Congress. His educational background includes a BA from Northern Illinois University obtained in 1984 and further studies at the University of Phoenix.
