Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska's 2nd district since 2017, has shared several updates on social media. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
On June 3, 2025, Rep. Bacon expressed his commitment to nominating qualified young adults to military academies. He stated, "Nominating our most competitive and qualified young adults to the military academies is a responsibility I take seriously. I congratulate Millard West and these two outstanding Americans on their appointments to the Naval Academy."
Later that day, he reflected on an article he authored about drone warfare four years prior. He noted, "I wrote this article on the future of drone warfare four years ago. It has become more accurate as time goes on. Defending against drone swarms is a reality and we are behind."
