Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, recently shared reflections and sentiments through a series of tweets. Born in Momence, Illinois, in 1963, Bacon resides in Papillion and has academic credentials from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.

On June 4, 2025, Rep. Bacon commemorated Chief Master Sergeant Parente with whom he worked as a Second Lieutenant in 1986. He expressed his respect and gratitude towards Parente stating "2Lt Bacon worked with Chief Master Sergeant Parente in 1986. He was the first Chief I ever worked with. He was a mentor, friend and supporter for the 39 years to follow. He mentored thousands of airmen at @Offutt_AFB. He will be greatly missed."

In another post on the same day, Rep. Bacon conveyed well-wishes to an individual or entity named NukeTaco by stating "I hope NukeTaco feels better! NE Nice".

Later that day, he highlighted the achievements of The President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), acknowledging its impact by noting "The President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) has saved an estimated 26 million lives and prevented an estimated 7.8 million babies from being born with AIDS. It is a noble program that America can be proud of funding."

As a dedicated public servant and former military officer, Rep. Don Bacon continues to engage with both national programs and personal connections through his platform.
