Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district, has been vocal on several key issues through his recent social media posts. His focus spans international security concerns, domestic land ownership regulations, and housing market conditions.
On June 9, 2025, Rep. Bacon expressed his concerns regarding Iran's nuclear ambitions by stating that "Iran has pledged the destruction of Israel. The world’s leading exporter of terror cannot have nuclear weapons. A nuclear-armed Iran is the biggest threat of nuclear war."
Later that day, he highlighted his legislative efforts against foreign ownership of American farmland, particularly near military installations. He announced via social media that "I’m leading an effort to restrict Communist China from buying US farmland in the House. Thank you @SenatorRicketts for leading the companion bill in the Senate. Farmland near our military bases deserves additional protections."
In another post on June 9, Rep. Bacon discussed a meeting with members of the National Association of Realtors from Nebraska about housing issues. He noted "Last week I met with the Nebraska Delegation of the National Association of Realtors to discuss housing affordability and market conditions as we work to better support Nebraska homeowners and families in our communities."
Don Bacon was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and now resides in Papillion. He graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1984 and later from the University of Phoenix.
