Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska's 2nd district, recently shared his views on various pressing issues through a series of tweets. Having replaced Brad Ashford in 2017, Bacon has been an active voice on topics ranging from immigration and international conflicts to military funding.

On June 9, 2025, Rep. Bacon addressed concerns about border security and the legal immigration system in the United States. He stated that "Americans overwhelmingly want secure borders and a functioning legal immigration system." While acknowledging the right to protest, he condemned domestic violence, emphasizing that individuals "burning cars and assaulting cops deserve jail time."

In another tweet posted shortly after, Rep. Bacon commented on the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He criticized Russia's actions by stating that "Russia bombs Ukrainian cities every day but when Ukraine destroys the Russian bombers it is terrorism." Highlighting the high number of Russian casualties—over 830,000—he advocated for continued support to Ukraine by providing necessary weapons to help repulse what he termed as Putin's "war of choice."

Later that day, Rep. Bacon expressed concern over military infrastructure funding. He mentioned that Congress had allocated funds specifically for repairing military dorms and barracks for younger service members but was troubled by reports that "the Pentagon transferred that money away from the barracks." He assured constituents that efforts would be made to obtain answers regarding this issue within the week.

Don Bacon was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in 1984 and furthered his education at the University of Phoenix.
