American Legion Post 371 in Valparaiso hosted Kids’ Day on Saturday, April 23rd. The children enjoyed games, prizes, face painting, a petting zoo and other activities. The Valparaiso Fire Department and the Saunders County Sheriff’s Office were also present. The Valparaiso Fire Department gave rides on the fire truck. Here, Deputy Shannon Sydik shows some of the kids the Sheriff’s car. She also handed out Junior Deputy badges, as well as coloring books with safety tips. Many Junior Deputies were appointed, and everyone had fun. Thank you to the Valparaiso American Legion for hosting and dedicating their time to our children.
